Yoga Nidra with Mona Anand

Description: A practice designed to induce a deep state of relaxation and tap into the subconscious and unconscious.

The practice begins with a gentle guided vinyasa and stretching to release stress in the breath and tension from muscles and joints. Participants will then recline on bolsters to the sound of soothing music, the aroma of essential oils and gentle hands on adjustments. Each restorative pose will be held for about ten to fifteen minutes to open major energy lines in the body in preparation for yoga nidra. The workshop will end with a twenty minute long yoga nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation technique practiced in savasana, designed to bring practitioners into the hypnogogic state (the twilight state between being awake and being asleep) for an extended period of time. This state not only induces deep levels of relaxation for the body and mind but also purges the sub conscious and unconscious mind, which is what controls so much of our behavior.

You will learn how to use different parts of the Yoga Nidra practice for different purposes in your life: to reduce stress and induce a deep state of relaxion; to fall asleep or to tap into your subconscious an unconscious
